Introduction

The GivSmart at Your Doorstep program opens the door for your organization to share in the multibillion dollar market of reusable goods.  Community organizations have raised billions from this retail segment and now your organization can benefit as well by partnering with GivSmart LLC, a social enterprise company and contracted supplier to the Value Village thrift store chain.  The process is very simple; your organization asks for donations from your community of support and GivSmart takes it from there.  Not only does GivSmart at Your Doorstep provide you a solid, year around income, fundraisers don't get any more surefire or easier than this.

1. It all starts with this basic fact; your existing community of support has reusable clothing and other items they are happy to donate if asked and the donation process is convenient.
2. Your organization registers with GivSmart LLC to be added to the list of eligible recipients.
3. Let your community of support know how easy it is to donate.  The old axiom "everybody wants to help, they just need to be asked" is especially true when the donations are surplus clothing and the "drop off" is as close as their front porch.
4. GivSmart LLC takes over from there -- Your donors schedule a pick-up with us (online or phone).  We take care of everything - scheduling, weighing, pick-up, warehousing and delivery.
5. Value Village Thrift stores receive all donations through a contract with us, GivSmart LLC.
6. GivSmart LLC sends you a check and list of donors every month.

Dollars and Cents

The potential income from this fundraiser depends on the "reach" of your organization (number of households your organization can motivate to donate) throughout the 4 county area.  We pick-up in most zip codes at least once per month.  As with any fundraiser, results are driven by your clear communicaton regarding the value (and ease) of the program reinforced by repetition.  Diligent effort = great results!  We will pay your organization $.015 lb for items in the Clothing category and $0.05 lb for Household Goods (See complete list).  Everything is weighed when the pick-up is made and credited to your organization.  Please note there is a limitation on the total value of household goods.  While the individual amounts will vary, we estimate a typical family's donations will generate $30 to $50 per year.  Can you think of another fundraising program that will add the same level of increased donations and the donor will thank you for the "at their doorstep" service?

Marketing

While GivSmart LLC does general awareness marketing that may bring your organization passive income (a person looking for a pick-up selects you off the List), making your community of supporters aware of the program and selling the benefits will maximize your income.  Some of the benefits to focus on are:

• Their donation becomes a valuable cash donation to your organization.
• Convenience -- it takes just a moment to schedule a pick-up online or over the phone.  They will receive a reminder the day before the pick-up.
• If your organization is a 501 (C) (3), we will (at the organization's option) provide a tax receipt.
• No hauling heavy bags and boxes to a drop-off.
• Ecological -- reuse is the most efficient recycling strategy.
